Placing an Order
When you place an order to purchase a product from www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product, for which we thank you, and which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we've despatched that product to you. Any products on the same order, which we have not confirmed in our e-mail confirmation to have been dispatched, do not form part of that contract.

For your protection, a contract will not be made if there is any legal reason why this is not possible e.g. attempted fraud, minimum age etc. Also, for your further protection, the information you provide will be subject to credit and fraud prevention checks.

Our prices are subject to change.

All goods and services are subject to availability.

This does not affect your Statutory Rights.

If the goods you have ordered are not available from stock we will contact you by email within 7 days and you will have the option to either wait until the goods are available from stock or cancel your order in accordance with our Cancellation & Returns Policy.

When making an order through the web site the technical steps you need to take to complete the order process are described under Order Process.

Order Process
To place and order with www.coopelectricalshop,co.uk just follow the procedure below:
1. Choose the product you would like to purchase and click on either the title or image to display more information. 

2. To add the item to your basket click on the ‘add to basket’ button.

3. You now see your item in the shopping basket. If you wish to change the quantity please retype the quantity in the Qty box and then click the ‘update’ button. If you wish to delete any item click the icon in the delete column and the page will automatically update. If you wish to add more items to your basket click on the ‘continue shopping’ button. When you have added all your items into your basket click on the ‘continue order’ button. 

4. You are now on the first of three payment stages. After entering your first and surname, enter your house number and post code then click on the ‘get address’ button.  You will also need to enter a contact telephone number and a valid email address as we will use the email address to contact you regarding your delivery. 

5. You will now be asked if you wish your product to be delivered to a different address.  If this is required please enter the delivery address details.  Then click on the ‘continue’ button. 

6. You will now be asked to enter your credit card details.  Please select the type of credit card you wish to pay with, i.e. Visa, Mastercard etc. Then enter the card details as requested. When completed please click the ‘continue button’  

7. This page will show you the details of your order, both the product details and your personal/delivery details.  Please ensure that you check all the details carefully.  Once you have checked these please click on the ‘place your order’ button. DO NOT CLICK ON THIS BUTTON IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE BOUND BY CONTRACT TO PAY FOR THE GOODS.

8. You will receive an acknowledgement email from us, acknowledging receipt of your order. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR ORDER AND NO BINDING CONTRACT HAS BEEN MADE UNTIL THE GOODS ARE DESPATCHED.

Age of Consent

When placing an order you are declaring that you are the appropriate legal age to purchase the item and that the person accepting delivery of your order is aged 18 or over. If it is found that you are not legally entitled to order certain goods, we reserve the right to terminate all account facilities immediately, without notice, and we will not be obliged to complete the order. All deliveries will require a signature.

Customer Responsibility
Before you place your order please notify The co-operative electrical of any special delivery instructions for example 2nd floor flat.

If you require your old appliance removing please make sure that cookers, dishwashers and washing machines etc, are disconnected, free of excess water and externally clean.

On delivery of your product please inspect it for damage and notify The co-operative electrical within 7 days of delivery.

Delivery
Please note delivery is made to mainland UK and Isle of Wight only.
We aim to deliver your purchase within 7 working days from confirmation of acceptance of order subject to availability and unless otherwise stated by our customer service team. Please make sure that you are available on the day arranged for delivery.  If no one is available to accept delivery when the carriers call, we reserve the right to bill you the full cost of delivery.  Our costs for deliveries are as follows;

Please note the above action is necessary due to the low margins we achieve. In the majority of cases any redelivery required means we make a loss on that sale.

Availability of goods
All products offered are subject to availability. If the product you have ordered is not available from stock, you will be contacted by email or telephone, if you have entered the relevant details, and you will have the option either to wait until the item is available or to cancel your order. A comparable product may be substituted in the event of a product being unavailable, pending customer agreement.

Laundry and Dishwashers
Delivery of these products is FREE. The delivery service includes, if requested, unpacking and siting your product with packaging removed.

If you would like us to take your old appliance away please click the add button beside 'OPTIONAL REMOVAL' on the product's detail page. There is a charge of £14.99 for removal. Please note laundry products can only be removed if disconnected and free of excess water.

If you would like us to disconnect your old appliance and connect your new appliance, please also tick the box beside 'CONNECTION SERVICE' on the product detail's page. There is a charge of £19.99. Please see 'Appliance Connection' page for full details. Please note that due to stopping restrictions we are unable to offer our Connection Services for London Red Route addresses.

Liability on Home Laundry Connections

• After 24 hrs we will not be liable for any leaks to the pipes.
• If you ask us to install with existing pipes the seal may be worn. New machines come with a 1M water pipe; we will not be liable if you ask us to connect to an existing 2M length.
• We are not liable for anything that is left in the old machine once it’s collected.
• We are not liable for surges in power to appliances or any other related electrical problems.
• We are not liable if the appliance has been moved after the connection has taken place.

Please note: We do not offer a connection service for Tumble Dryers.

Fridges, Freezers and Fridge/Freezers
Delivery of these products is FREE. The delivery service includes, if requested, unpacking and siting your product with packaging removed.

If you would like us to take your old refrigeration appliance away please click the add button beside 'OPTIONAL REMOVAL' on the product's detail page. There is a charge of £14.99 for removal. Please note refrigeration products can only be removed if disconnected, defrosted and free of excess water. We do not offer a connection service for refrigeration appliances.

American Fridge Freezers 
Delivery of this item is FREE.
When purchasing your American Fridge/Freezer please ensure that you have measured the relevant doorways in your home to make sure that the product will fit through when delivered. Unfortunately if the delivery results in a failure due to this reason the full cost of the distribution will be charged to you.

Cookers/Range Cookers
Delivery of these products is FREE. The delivery service includes, if requested, unpacking and siting your product with packaging removed.
If you would like us to take your old appliance away please click the add button beside 'OPTIONAL REMOVAL' on the product's detail page. There is a charge of £14.99 for removal. Please note cookers can only be removed if disconnected and externally clean, unfortunately Range Cookers cannot be removed.
We do not offer a connection service for cooking appliances.

Built in Appliances
Delivery is FREE and includes, if requested, unpacking and siting your product with packaging removed.
If you would like us to take your old built-in appliance away please tick the box beside 'OPTIONAL REMOVAL' on the product detail's page. There is a charge of £14.99 for removal.

Please note we can only remove your old built in appliances if they have been removed from their housing units.

We do not offer a connection service on Built-in Appliances.

Televisions 37 inch and above 
Delivery of these products is FREE. If you would like us to take your old TV away please click the add button beside 'OPTIONAL REMOVAL' on the product's detail page. There is a charge of £14.99 for removal. Please note TVs (37" and above) can only be removed if unplugged and disconnected.

If you would like us to disconnect your old TV and connect your new one, please also tick the box beside 'CONNECTION SERVICE' on the product detail's page. There is a charge of £19.99 for the connection service. Please see 'Appliance Connection' page for full details. Please note that due to stopping restrictions we are unable to offer our Connection Services for London Red Route addresses.

Liability on TV Connections

• We have no liability if the TV looses signal after the driver has left; please refer to Manufactures help line in manual.

Televisions up to and including 32", VCRs, TV/VCR Combis and DVD players 
Unfortunately, we are unable to remove or connect Televisions upto 32", VCR or DVD players.

Vacuum cleaners, Microwaves, Hostess Trolleys, Kitchen Appliances and Trouser Presses
Unfortunately, we are not able to remove your old appliance or offer a connection service for these products.

Damaged on Delivery – Major Kitchen appliances
Very rarely do we deliver damaged goods – however due to the nature of large kitchen appliances sometimes white boxes do get damaged.  Please ensure you inspect your product while the delivery driver is in your home, this makes the necessary action on this product a lot easier for you.  If you are not ready to unpack your product at the time of delivery we strongly recommend that your product is unpacked, inspected then re-packed.

Our delivery teams are instructed to unpack your product, if they do not offer this service please remind them that you have paid for this service.  Please note you must inform us of any damage within 7 days of delivery, any damage reported after this date will not be accepted. 
The unpacking service excludes items delivered by one of our nominated carriers, City Link 

Prices and Payment
All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated. Delivery charge is not included in the price. Please see delivery for charges. Prices quoted are correct at time of entering information. We reserve the right to change prices and specification of any item on the Web site at our discretion without prior notice or to withdraw any items at any time. We will not be liable to you or anyone else for withdrawing any items from the Web site or refusing to process an order. However, this will not affect any orders that have been accepted and therefore dispatched.

Payment can be made on the web site by Mastercard, Visa credit card or Delta debit card. If however, you would prefer to pay by any other method please contact The co-operative electrical either by email on sales@coop.co.uk or by telephone on 0845 7000 100.

You confirm that the credit/debit card that is being used is yours. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorize payment, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery and we are not obliged to inform you of the refusal. Authority for payment must be given at the time of order. Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items.

We are not responsible for your card issuer or bank charging you as a result of our processing of your credit/debit card payment.

Prices that are reduced for sales and promotions are only valid for the specified period. The term 'normal price' is used to describe the retail-selling price of a product within a Co-operative store.

All customers must reside in mainland UK

All purchases will be limited to 5 items per customer in any 24 hour period.

Product Guarantee

Kitchen Appliances, Plasma TV, LCD TV, standard TV, Audio, Floor Care and Microwaves.

The majority of products are guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months.  In the unlikely event of a fault occurring the following is applicable;

• 1 to 28 days    Engineers visit to determine the fault.  Refund or exchange will be given dependant upon engineers report.
• After 28 days your statutory rights will apply.

Small Appliances

• 1 to 28 days   Refund or exchange
• 29 days to 12 months.  Product exchange

Please note all products are checked for a valid fault.  In the event of the reported fault not being found a full refund will not be processed.

Co-operative Group Membership
You can earn points on any purchase from www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk or www.coopbedshop.co.uk. The points will be changed into pounds and pence when we know how much money we have made as a society and you will receive a share on our profits. See www.co-operative.co.uk for further details. 

Fraud Protection
In assessing your request for goods or services, we may use your information for the purposes of the prevention and detection of fraud. One of the purposes for which we may disclose your address and postcode details is to check against the IMRG Security Alert or any other Fraud Prevention Scheme. At all times where we disclose your information it will remain secure.

Security
Credit/debit card details are encrypted to minimize the possibility of unauthorized access or disclosure. We accept orders only from Web browsers that permit communication through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, for example, 3.0 version or higher of Explorer and versions 3.02 or higher of Netscape. This means you cannot inadvertently place an order through an unsecured connection. Your complete credit card number is transferred to this secure machine across a proprietary one-way interface. This computer is not accessible by network or modem and the number is not stored anywhere else.

From time to time a notice may appear on your screen alerting you to the fact that you are moving from a secure server to one which is not secure. Do not be alarmed by this. The secure part is where we take personal details or your credit card details from you and is covered by our security guarantee.

Cancellation and Returns
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you may return it under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, within 7 days of delivery for an exchange or refund. However the following points must be observed:

• Items must be returned in an unused condition with the original packaging, along with the receipt or other valid proof of purchase.
• Items are to be returned at your expense unless the item purchased was damaged or faulty when you received it.

• All products are checked on return to our warehouse.  In the event of the product being used, or an accessory is missing, a full refund will not be processed.  An example of the cost for accessories that will be charged back is as follows:
• Remote control                   £40 including VAT
• Instruction book/manual      £10 including VAT
• Washing machine pipes      £20 including VAT

To return the item please contact us by email at sales@coop.co.uk quoting your order number.

Please note that the manufacturer endeavours to offer a free repair service for all products that develop a fault, not caused by accident, misuse or neglect, within the manufacturers guarantee period.

If the product develops more than three technical faults in the first year of the guarantee period an identical or comparable replacement will be offered if requested.

In the event that the goods have already been despatched at the date of receipt of your cancellation of the order you must return the goods to us and we will credit your credit or debit card with the price of the goods within 30 days beginning with the day on which notice of cancellation was given. If you do not return the goods within 21 days of your cancellation, we will make a charge in respect of the cost of recovering the goods. Please note that when purchasing a product the delivery charge is subsidized, the full cost of returning the product will be charged. If you do not return the goods or fail to make them available for collection within 30 days of your notice of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods, at which point a new purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order at the price set out on the web site. This does not affect your statutory rights.

As we cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of returned goods we recommend that you obtain proof of posting. Please note that all goods return must be in their original packaging and with all seals in tact.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
