Placing an Order
When you place an order to purchase a product from The Co-operative Electrical we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product, for which we thank you, and which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we've despatched that product to you. Any products on the same order, which we have not confirmed in our e-mail confirmation to have been dispatched, do not form part of that contract.
For your protection, a contract will not be made if there is any legal reason why this is not possible e.g. attempted fraud, minimum age etc. Also, for your further protection, the information you provide will be subject to identity and fraud prevention checks.
Our prices are subject to change.
All goods and services are subject to availability.
This does not affect your Statutory Rights.
If the goods you have ordered are not available from stock we will contact you by email within 7 days and you will have the option to either wait until the goods are available from stock or cancel your order in accordance with our Cancellation & Returns Policy.
When making an order through the web site the technical steps you need to take to complete the order process are described under Order Process.
To place and order with The Co-operative Electrical just follow the procedure below:
1. Choose the product you would like to purchase and click on either the title or image to display more information.
2. To add the item to your basket click on the ‘add to basket’ button.
3. You now see your item in the basket at the top of the page. When you are ready to purchase the products in your basket please click ‘view basket/checkout ‘button in the basket...
4. When in the basket page, If you wish to change the quantity please retype the quantity in the Qty box and then click the ‘update’ button. If you wish to delete any item click the icon in the delete column and the page will automatically update.
You can also choose to add extended warranty for your purchase or removal of your old appliance. To do this check the box along side of the service you require and update the basket.
If you are a member you can also enter your membership number on this page. If you have shopped with us before and created an account your membership number will be remembered and added during the checkout process.
If you have a promotional code this should be entered in the ‘promotion code’ field and then click update, this will update the basket and apply the terms of the code.
Please note only one code can be used during any one purchase. All offers are subject to availability. Refunds for goods purchased under a promotional offer will be based on the terms of the promotional price. If you would like to continue shopping click on the ‘continue shopping’ button.
When you have added all your items into your basket click on the ‘Checkout’’ button.
You will then be asked to complete 5 simple steps to complete your purchase.
5. Step 1 – WELCOME: -
You will now be asked for your email address. If you have an account with us you will also be asked for your password.

6. If you are a member and have entered your membership number on the basket page you will now see it displayed.
If you have forgotten to enter it on the basket you may now add this information. If you are not a member click the ‘’continue’ button.
7. Step 2 – DELIVERY ADDRESS:-
You will now be asked to tell us who you would like the order delivering to and the delivery address.
You can also inform us of things which would help us make your delivery, such as 2nd floor flat with no lift...
When you have completed the information click the ‘continue’ button.
8. Step 3 – DELIVERY OPTIONS:-
If your product is available on our rapid delivery service, you will be asked to choose a delivery date, by clicking the button on your chosen date.
If you product is not available on our rapid delivery service you will not be offered this option and we will contact you to arrange a delivery date.
9. Step 4 – PAYMENT DETAILS:-
If you have any Co-operative Membership vouchers these can be entered here as either the total cost or part of the cost.
You will then be required to enter your credit card number and details, along with the billing address, which must be the registered address of your credit card.
You will also be asked to read and accept our terms and conditions.
10. Step 5 – ORDER CONFIRMATION:-
This page will show you the details of your order, both the product details and your personal/delivery details.
Please ensure that you check all the details carefully.
If you need to make any changes click the ‘edit’ button on any of the stages shown at the top of the screen or us the ‘back’ button.
Once you have checked these please click on the ‘place your order’ button.

8. You will receive an acknowledgement email from us, acknowledging receipt of your order.

Age of Consent
When placing an order you are declaring that you are the appropriate legal age to purchase the item and that the person accepting delivery of your order is aged 18 years or over.
If it is found that you are not legally entitled to order certain goods, we reserve the right to terminate all account facilities immediately, without notice, and we will not be obliged to complete the order.
All deliveries will require a signature.
We store the contracts content and will send you the details of your order as well as our general terms via e-mail.
Before you place your order please notify The Co-operative electrical of any special delivery instructions for example 2nd floor flat.
If you require your old appliance removing please make sure that cookers, dishwashers and washing machines etc, are disconnected, free of excess water and externally clean.
On delivery of your product please inspect it for damage and notify The Co-operative Electrical within 7 days of delivery.
Please note for large items delivery is available to mainland UK and Isle of Wight only. For small items we are able to deliver by our courier to mainland UK, Isle of Wight and Northern Ireland.
We aim to deliver your purchase within 7 days from confirmation of acceptance of order subject to availability and unless otherwise stated by our customer service team. Please make sure that you are available on the day arranged for delivery. If no one is available to accept delivery when the carriers call, we reserve the right to bill you the full cost of delivery. Please note the above action is necessary due to the low margins we achieve. In the majority of cases any redelivery required means we make a loss on that sale.
Availability of goods
All products offered are subject to availability. If the product you have ordered is not available from stock, you will be contacted by email or telephone, if you have entered the relevant details, and you will have the option either to wait until the item is available or to cancel your order.
A comparable product may be substituted in the event of a product being unavailable, pending customer agreement
Laundry and Dishwashers
Delivery of these products is FREE. The delivery service includes, if requested, unpacking and siting your product with packaging removed.

Please note laundry products can only be removed if disconnected and free of excess water.

Liability on Home Laundry Connections
• After 24 hrs we will not be liable for any leaks to the pipes.
• If you ask us to install with existing pipes the seal may be worn. New machines come with a 1M water pipe; we will not be liable if you ask us to connect to an existing 2M length.
• We are not liable for anything that is left in the old machine once it’s collected.
• We are not liable for surges in power to appliances or any other related electrical problems.
• We are not liable if the appliance has been moved after the connection has taken place.
Please note: We do not offer a connection service for Tumble Dryers.
Fridges, Freezers and Fridge/Freezers
Delivery of these products is FREE. The delivery service includes, if requested, unpacking and siting your product with packaging removed.

Please note refrigeration products can only be removed if disconnected, defrosted and free of excess water. We do not offer a connection service for refrigeration appliances.
American Fridge Freezers
Delivery of this item is FREE.
When purchasing your American Fridge/Freezer please ensure that you have measured the relevant doorways in your home to make sure that the product will fit through when delivered. Please note, we are unable to remove the fridge freezer doors for delivery to take place. Unfortunately if the delivery results in a failure due to this reason the full cost of the distribution will be charged to you. Please note we can only remove your old built in appliances if they have been removed from their housing units.

Televisions 40 inch and above
Delivery of these products is FREE. If you would like us to take your old TV away please click the add button beside 'OPTIONAL REMOVAL' on the product's detail page. There is a charge of £14.99 for removal. Please note TVs (40" and above) can only be removed if unplugged and disconnected.
All Mobiles phones must be purchased with £10 worth of airtime. Airtime vouchers can only be refunded if they are returned in the same condition as they were received. Any activated vouchers will not be refunded. Mobile Phones are limited to 2 units per household.
Bulk Household Buys
Please note that product packaging and contents may be different to that advertised on our website. Please always read labels, warnings provided with the product and always use in accordance with directions given.
Morning or Afternoon Delivery for Large Appliances - £9.99
• You may select a morning (7am to 12 noon) or afternoon (12 noon to 7pm) timeslot for the delivery of your large appliance for £9.99
• You will be sent a 60 minute timeslot the evening before your delivery
• Morning and Afternoon timeslots cannot be changed after 12 noon the day before delivery.
Damaged on Delivery – Major Kitchen appliances
Very rarely do we deliver damaged goods – however due to the nature of large kitchen appliances sometimes white boxes do get damaged. Please ensure you inspect your product while the delivery driver is in your home, this makes the necessary action on this product a lot easier for you. If you are not ready to unpack your product at the time of delivery we strongly recommend that your product is unpacked, inspected then re-packed.
Our delivery teams are instructed to unpack your product, if they do not offer this service please remind them that you have paid for this service. Please note you must inform us of any damage within 7 days of delivery, any damage reported after this date will not be accepted.
The unpacking service excludes items delivered by one of our nominated carriers.
Prices and Payment
All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated. Delivery charge is not included in the price. Please see delivery for charges. Prices quoted are correct at time of entering information. We reserve the right to change prices and specification of any item on the Web site at our discretion without prior notice or to withdraw any items at any time. We will not be liable to you or anyone else for withdrawing any items from the Web site or refusing to process an order. However, this will not affect any orders that have been accepted and therefore dispatched.

You confirm that the credit/debit card that is being used is yours. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorize payment, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery and we are not obliged to inform you of the refusal. Authority for payment must be given at the time of order. Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items.
We are not responsible for your card issuer or bank charging you as a result of our processing of your credit/debit card payment.
Prices that are reduced for sales and promotions are only valid for the specified period. The term 'normal price' is used to describe the retail-selling price of a product within a Co-operative store.
All customers must reside in mainland UK
All purchases will be limited to 5 items per customer in any 24 hour period.
Kitchen Appliances, Plasma TV, LCD TV, LED TV, standard TV, Audio, Floor Care and Microwaves.
The majority of products are guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months. In the unlikely event of a fault occurring the following is applicable;
• 1 to 28 days Engineers visit to determine the fault. Refund or exchange will be given dependant upon engineers report. If a removable part is delivered damaged or missing, we reserve the right to replace the part.
• After 28 days your statutory rights will apply.
• 1 to 28 days Refund or exchange
• 29 days to 12 months. Product exchange
Please note all products are checked for a valid fault. In the event of the reported fault not being found a full refund will not be processed.

If you change your mind and would like to return your product we will exchange or refund (within 28 days of delivery) provided that:

• Instruction book/manual approximately £10 including VAT
• Washing machine pipes approximately £20 including VAT
To return an item please contacts us by email at email@example.com quoting your order number.
Please note that the manufacturer endeavours to offer a free repair service for all products that develop a fault, not caused by accident, misuse or neglect, within the manufacturers guarantee period.
If the product develops more than three technical faults in the first year of the guarantee period an identical or comparable replacement will be offered if requested.
In the event that the goods have already been despatched at the date of receipt of your cancellation of the order you must return the goods to us and we will credit your credit or debit card with the price of the goods within 30 days beginning with the day on which notice of cancellation was given. If you do not return the goods within 21 days of your cancellation, we will make a charge in respect of the cost of recovering the goods. Please note that when purchasing a product the delivery charge is subsidized, the full cost of returning the product will be charged. If you do not return the goods or fail to make them available for collection within 30 days of your notice of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods, at which point a new purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order at the price set out on the web site. This does not affect your statutory rights.
As we cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of returned goods we recommend that you obtain proof of posting. Please note that all goods return must be in their original packaging and with all seals in tact.

The following points must be observed:
Items must be returned in the best possible condition (and where possible with the original packaging) including any accessories or free gifts.
In the case of gaming or computer software purchased with a tamper proof seal these items cannot be returned if the tamper proof seal is broken.
In the case of goods where data or software can be loaded (eg laptops or digital cameras etc), the product must not have had any software installed or data inputted.

Our Exclusive Member Price Guarantee is limited to members of Co-operative Group Limited only. It means that if you find a product cheaper in the UK online at Currys, Argos, AO (Appliances Online) John Lewis Partnership (each a “Selected Retailer” and together “Selected Retailers”), we will match that lower price. This excludes stores and catalogues and any other businesses, private sellers, auction sites or market places. Our Exclusive Member Price Guarantee applies to any branded item available for purchase at both The Co-operative Electrical and any of the Selected Retailers websites. Items sold as part of a multi-buy, link or bundle deal from The Co-operative Electrical will be matched to the cheapest price of each item when sold individually and must also be sold as part of a multi-buy, link or bundle deal from the Selected Retailers for the Exclusive Member Price Guarantee to apply. Our decision on this is final. The price of the item must be publically advertised online and cannot include any membership or personal discounts, except if you are an employee member of the Co-operative Group Limited (525R) then we will match the price using the price you have paid at The Co-operative Electrical after using your employee member discount when you purchased the item.
The item must be in stock at the Selected Retailer at the time you make the purchase at The Co-operative Electrical and be in stock at the Selected Retailer on the day you make your claim under the Exclusive Price Guarantee from The Co-operative Electrical. The item must be identical (i.e. same name, model and colour), new, not damaged or graded and sold directly through one of the Selected Retailers websites in the UK in £GBP. It must match the delivery standards as set out below. For the avoidance of doubt, the item at the Selected Retailers that is price matched against must be an item that has a price including delivery and cannot be the price collected from a store of the Selected Retailers.

The Exclusive Member Price Guarantee only applies if the Selected Retailers can match the following delivery standards:
